*) The most general definition of the domain “gušteri” in most Slavic and Germanic languages is derived from the Latin term “gusto”. This term "gusto" has, in turn, its roots in Farsi, one of the oldest known languages, where  غذا   (guštè) means: food. 

Uopštena definicija klase “gušteri” u većini Slavenskih i Germanskih jezika se može izvesti iz Latinske baze “gusto”:

“gusto” (Latinski izraz izveden od Perzijskog izraza guštè) = uživati  

“gusto” = (English) Over the top with excitement or enjoyment. (noun)

Iz the etimološke baze, može se izvesti da “gušteri“ pripadaju jednoj vrsti koja uživa u raznim zadovoljstvima, npr. u hrani. Riječ "hrana" može se prevesti na jedan od najstarijih poznatih jezika, Farsi, i izgovara se: guštè.
